Bilateral relations between both countries include cooperation in political and developmental issues, cultural cooperation, especially postgraduate studies, training, health, and economic cooperation.

    The history of diplomatic relations between Sudan and Finland goes back when Finland recognized Sudan on December 5th, 1958. Diplomatic relations were established in 1961. The relations are extraordinary through which Finland contributed economically in assisting Sudan, especially in the field of forests, combating desertification, training and education in the field of forestry.
